Planting in the Churchyard for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

On 19 March 2022, to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a large number of parishioners of all ages assembled to plant trees and hedging in the extension to the churchyard. A line of 7 Flowering cherries and a beech hedge were planted along the fence. We also planted an oak to replace the victim of Storm Arwen. The work has been registered as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy which is a national initiative to plant more trees as part of the Jubilee celebrations. Details can be viewed at queensgreencanopy.org. The project was generously funded by Kirkandrews Parish Council.
